Rural Youth Mental Health Expansion Project

Heartland Counseling Services
2025
South Sioux City, Neb.

The funded project proactively addresses mental health disparities among rural Nebraskan youth through the expansion of the school-based mental health program and youth peer support program. The project aspires to prevent mental health disorders, address health disparities, and create a comprehensive support network for rural youth who historically have lesser access to support despite an increase in both crises and barriers to care.
